The Lunch Program at our school is intended to take care of those students who live a distance from school or for students whose parents work outside the home during the day.
All students who qualify due to one of the above situations may stay in school for lunch for a $100 fee per student per year. The entire fee of $100 per student may be paid on or before September 15, 2018. The option to pay twice per year is available also. The first lunch payment of $50 per student is due by September 15, 2018. The second lunch fee of $50 per student is due on or before January 15, 2019. Any student whose fee is not paid by these dates will not be permitted to stay in school for lunch.
Unless a student forgets his/her lunch, parents or other adults are not permitted to deliver lunches to school. Parents or other adults are not permitted to deliver fast food lunches from places such as Arby’s, Wendy’s, etc. If a parent or other adult delivers a forgotten lunch, the lunch must have the student’s full name, grade, and room number on the bag. Deliver the lunch to the secretary in the main office. Classes may not be interrupted for lunch deliveries. For student safety, students may not bring glass containers or glass thermos bottles to school. As part of our school and archdiocesan wellness program, soda is not permitted for lunch or for snack time.
Students who do not stay for lunch daily are not permitted to stay on hot lunch days. Hot lunch is provided only to students who stay in school for lunch and order the lunch in advance.
If, due to an emergency reason, a student needs to remain in school for lunch on a particular day, a fee of $2.00 per day is necessary. This fee should be placed in an envelope with the student’s name, grade, and room number and sent to the student’s homeroom teacher on the morning of the day the student will be remaining in school for lunch.
Unless the student who remains in school for lunch has a written permission note from a parent, he/she may never leave the school grounds for any reason during the lunch period. This note must be presented to the homeroom teacher upon the student’s arrival in the morning.
Parents of students who do not obey the regulations of the lunchroom will be asked to find an alternate placement for their children for lunch. These students will not be permitted to remain in school for lunch.
Thank you for your cooperation in this lunch procedure. Safety and good order are our priorities for all our students. We know that you recognize our efforts to create a welcoming environment for all our students.
